At every event I work on, there's a moment I look forward to the most. A guest watches their name being carefully hand-engraved on a perfume bottle, or sees a message written in beautiful calligraphy. There's an immediate smile and a genuine sense of joy in seeing something created just for them.
It's the kind of moment no printed note or machine-engraved bottle could ever create, and it's been at the heart of my practice for over 20 years.
I work with luxury brands and experiential agencies to deliver live calligraphy, engraving and fragrance bottle personalisation — seamlessly, professionally, and always on-brand.
Beyond the craft itself, I bring an understanding of how different brands feel. Some activations are fun and conversational, guests excited and chatty, the personalisation adding to the energy of the event. Others are more refined and considered, where the craft itself creates a quiet moment of luxury for each guest.
Understanding a brand’s personality is just as important as the calligraphy itself.
I work across a range of surfaces including perfume bottles, packaging, glassware, metal, leather and canvas, with each approach considered to suit the setting, the product and the guest experience.

Not all of my work takes place at live events. Some of my favourite pieces are created in the studio: calligraphy for campaign packaging, engraved pieces for brand gifting, hand-painted bottles for limited editions and private commissions.

Craftsmanship
I've been doing this since before live personalisation became part of brand activations. Back then, calligraphy was simply calligraphy.
Twenty years on, the approach remains the same. Each piece is executed by hand, with careful attention to detail, material sensitivity, and a clear understanding of what luxury environments require.
about Fluid Calligraphy
I’m Jessica Gibson, the calligrapher and engraver behind Fluid Calligraphy since 2006.
I've worked with brands including Gucci, Jo Malone London, Patek Philippe, Tom Ford, Estée Lauder and Jimmy Choo, among many others, across contemporary brand activations and heritage-led campaigns at locations including Harrods and Selfridges.
My studio is based in the Surrey Hills, around an hour from central London. I regularly work on-site in London and throughout the UK, and can travel internationally for selected projects.
Alongside brand work, I take on a small number of personal commissions each year, bespoke engraving, wedding calligraphy and hand-painted perfume bottles for clients looking for something
genuinely made by hand.
